This is a Zoom course that will be offered on the following four Monday evenings in October 2021:
October 4th
October 11th
October 18th
October 25th
Description of Course: On the one hand, the book of Proverbs can be easy and enjoyable to read. A majority of the individual proverbs are intelligible adages giving practical instructions that seem easy enough to apply to one’s life. On the other hand, there may be no other biblical book that is more challenging to comprehend and to relate to our day and age. How is it that the book of Proverbs can be easy and hard, intelligible and difficult to understand, all at that same time? The answer to these questions has everything to do with how and by whom Proverbs is read. In this four-week course, we will focus on how to read the book of Proverbs well and apply its principles within the contexts of our contemporary communities.
